To connect a Webmail email account to Gmail, you will need to use the Gmail interface to set up an "IMAP" connection to your Webmail account. Here's how to do it:
- Open Gmail and click the "Settings" gear icon in the top right corner.
- Click "See all settings" at the top of the page.
- In the "Accounts and Import" section, click the "Add a mail account" button.
- In the "Add a mail account" window, enter the email address of your Webmail account in the "Email address" field, and then click "Next".
- On the next screen, select "Import emails from my other account (POP3)", and then click "Next".
- Enter the following information in the "POP Server" and "Port" fields:
- POP server: The address of your Webmail server (e.g. mail.yourdomain.com)
- Port: The port number for the Webmail server (usually 110 or 143)
- Enter your Webmail email address and password in the "Username" and "Password" fields, respectively.
- Select the options you want for how Gmail should handle your imported emails, such as whether to keep copies in the Webmail account or delete them after importing.
- Click "Add Account".
After you have completed these steps, Gmail will begin importing your Webmail emails into your Gmail account. This process may take some time, depending on the number of emails in your Webmail account.
Note: If you are unable to connect to your Webmail account using the above steps, it may be because the Webmail server requires a secure connection (SSL). In this case, you will need to use the "Advanced setup" option in the "Add a mail account" window to enter the SSL and port information for the Webmail server.
